*** CLOSED FOR THE SEASON, opening Memorial Day Weekend - May 24th, 2019
Our season begins the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend. We are open 7 days a week, weather permitting. Shuttles run all day from 10am until 3pm. Our last day of the season is Monday of Labor Day Weekend, unless otherwise posted, on our social media.
This is one of our top questions. No, this isn't a "Lazy River" this is the Toccoa River (Georgia) / Ocoee River (Tennessee). It is a single 93 mile long river that flows Northwestward. It offers great river tubing with just enough rocks and rapids to keep you on your toes, or rather your butt.
We are located on the upper Toccoa River ABOVE Lake Blue Ridge and the Blue Ridge Dam. The water you will be floating in is rainwater that flows down the mountains from Suches, Ga.
No, and the less you take with you the less you are likely to lose. You may take a 32 oz. plastic drink container, but NO Alcohol and NO littering.
Again the less you take the less you are likely to lose. We sell dry bags if you must take your cell phone, just an FYI there is NO CELL service for 90% of your float. We also sell floating disposable water cameras. You will park your vehicle then be shuttled up river and float back to your starting point where your vehicle is parked. We do offer a place to hang keys, you can leave them at your own risk.
No, sorry we do not allow dogs.
You will be floating down a rather calm part of the river with only 2 or 3 small rapids. There are several deep holes where you can enjoy a quick swim. The river level varies, most of the time the river is ankle to knee deep. We are required to issue everyone a life jacket with children 13 and younger required by law to wear them at all times.
Yes you may, as long as it is US Coast Guard Approved.
You must be 4 years or older, weight is only limited by how much work you are willing to do. The weight of a person determines how low the tube sinks down in the water. Heavier folks might encounter a few more rocks and get hung up more than their lighter friends.
No guides or lifeguards are provided.
NO, we have two shuttle that run as needed beginning at 10AM until 3PM, 7 days a week. If you have a group of 30 or more please give us at least one days notice so that we can be prepared for your floatilla!
We only offer single tubes but do offer straps to connect tubes at no extra charge. For safety reasons we don't recommend more than two tubes be strapped together.
The only water we have that flows is the river. We have a Port-a-potty, a changing room, and several picnic tables available for our customers.
Every guest must sign their own waiver. If you have a person between 4-18 an adult must sign their participation waiver.
No, hooks and tubes do not play well together.
Yes, isn't that the idea?
We recommend swimsuit, sunscreen, hat and securely fitting shoes.
Approximately 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
We will let you keep floating and you will get even wetter. However, if lightning strikes close by we will send our vans out to get you.
Perhaps if you keep your eyes open and you are lucky. This is a natural river and you could see bugs, wasps, snakes, otters, fish, deer or bear.
Our last shuttle departs at 3pm that means our last group of tubers won't return until 5pm or so. Then cleanup and lock up which means we can't leave until 6ish, not so early after all.
The average temperature is 60-62 F. Sounds chilly and no lie it is when you first get in but as you begin your float it will quickly become "refreshing". Remember you will be floating on a tube, paddling, kicking and if the sun is out the water will help keep you cool.
